Nobody is asking for more features.

They are asking for the software they already pay $100–300 a month for to open, hold what they typed, and upload the photo. These are real reviews from paying customers.

“Adding photos is a chore because they refuse to use the Google selector and use some other weird thing that doesn't give you access to any of the Photos app features… so you have to scroll through and pick one at a time.”

“Often times I'll attempt to upload pictures and it won't do it, OR it'll say it won't upload when it actually did and I end up uploading duplicates.”

“Screens refresh when I'm typing paragraphs, completely deleting what was typed.”

“As a technician this app is, on average, the worst part of my day.”

Three things, done properly.

Not a feature list. These are the three highest-density complaints in the data, in order.

01 — 19.5% of complaints

It opens. It stays open.

Reliability treated as the product, not as a bug backlog. Your typing survives a screen refresh. The app does not close between job views. This is unglamorous and it is the single largest thing people complain about.

02 — 3.6% of complaints

Photos that actually upload.

Native multi-select. Background upload with an honest queue you can see. Delete after upload. No duplicates because the app claimed a failure that never happened. In the trades, photos are the work product.

03 — the field-facing 20%

The phone does the job.

Move a job on the schedule. See the whole month while a customer is on the phone. Open an estimate without being told to use the "full site". The specific things people need while standing in front of a customer.

What we are deliberately not promising

Offline-first. We expected that to be the answer and the data said otherwise — connectivity is 1.7% of complaints. There will be a reliable offline queue for photos and time entries, because that sub-case is real. We are not going to pretend it is the headline.
