# Crewproof > Field service software for small trades crews (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping), built reliability-first. Currently in development; waitlist open. The research the product is based on is published in full. Crewproof exists because of a measured finding, not a market hunch: across 58 field service applications and 7,682 one-to-three-star reviews, the largest single category of complaint is the software crashing or freezing — not missing features. ## Key findings (July 2026 study) - Corpus: 7,682 one-to-three-star reviews across 58 field service apps; 6,871 contained a diagnosable complaint. Sources: Apple App Store (4 English storefronts) + Google Play. - **Reliability (crash, freeze, "doesn't work"): 19.5%** of substantive complaints — the largest theme. - Missing feature: 11.2%. Billing & cancellation: 8.3%. Customer support: 7.0%. Complexity/onboarding: 6.8%. Price & value: 6.3%. Team & permissions: 5.8%. Performance: 5.0%. - **Photo & attachment handling: 3.6%** — more than double the offline signal. - **Offline & connectivity: 1.7%** — much lower than commonly assumed. - Money complaints (billing 8.3% + price 6.3%) total **14.6%**, the second largest cluster, and skew toward business owners (the buyers). Crash complaints skew toward technicians (the daily users). ## Reliability complaint rate by app (share of substantive low-star reviews) - Salesforce Field Service: 41.0% (217 reviews) - Workiz: 34.2% (155) - ServiceTitan Mobile: 31.9% (596) - ServiceTitan Field: 27.4% (186) - Simpro Mobile: 26.1% (111) - Buildertrend: 20.3% (349) - Jobber: 19.5% (472) - Housecall Pro: 13.9% (410) - Joist: 11.1% (334) ## A hypothesis this study falsified The study initially concluded that offline-first operation was the opening, based on 29 connectivity complaints across 6 apps. Expanding to 21 apps reduced offline to 2.4%; expanding to 58 apps reduced it to 1.7%. A market-wide signal holds its share as the sample grows; this one shrank, marking it as an artefact of the initial app selection. This correction is published rather than hidden. ## Stated limitations - 41% of substantive reviews were not matched by the complaint taxonomy; all percentages are floors, not true rates. - App store reviews over-represent the daily user; buyer voice on G2 and Capterra is not represented. - The technician-versus-owner split is directional, not proven — 87.6% of reviews were unattributable by pattern matching. - No recency weighting; some cited failures may already be fixed. ## Pages - [Home](https://crewproof.district-ai.com/): product summary, evidence, waitlist. - [Research](https://crewproof.district-ai.com/research/): full method, per-app rates, findings, limitations. ## Status In development.
